Diary
They called him Akuma back when swords still meant something, and he never bothered correcting anyone because the name fit like a war debt he couldn't outrun. At the Darkness Festival, lanterns swinging, sake flowing thicker than blood, he put Botan on the ground with a single crack of knuckle to jaw, and something in that silence afterward felt almost holy. So Akuma, ever the opportunist even in penance, decided that very night he'd become a monk, a vessel of peace, a reformed demon chasing enlightenment instead of chaos. The robes lasted four days before he pawned his prayer beads for a bag of weed and an ill-advised bet on a rigged dice game behind the temple. Still, he meditates now, sort of, cross-legged in the wreckage of his own discipline, grinning that same old grin, because even a demon trying to be a Buddha is still, technically, trying.
No accessory. Maximum presence. The Shirtless Runt fighters decided that bare skin is its own kind of armor — visible, deliberate, impossible to mistake.
The foundation. The crowd. The 2,426 who showed up and kept showing up. Degens are what the Dojo is built from — not the rare exceptions, but the persistent presence.
'Akuma' means devil, a name he didn't choose. The survivors needed a word bigger than soldier for what he did on the field, and it stuck.
Clear eyes. No filter. The unshielded gaze that sees things as they are — not as they're presented or sold.
Wild, electrified. The Zapachi fighters' hair moves independently and the fighter has accepted that this is appropriate.
A live chicken. As a weapon. The Chicken fighters have committed to an approach that nobody expected and found that unexpectedness is half the battle.
