They called him Akuma back when the banners still meant something, when a look from him could empty a battlefield faster than any blade, and he has never once bothered to correct anyone who still flinches at the name. These days the only war is the one he wages against his own liver, and on one particularly misty morning he lost that battle spectacularly alongside Legless Tom, a man whose nickname he now understands with the clarity of shared trauma. Somewhere between the fourth bottle and the sunrise, teeth were sacrificed, dignity was aped away, and a demon once feared across provinces was reduced to gumming his words like a toothless grandfather at a New Year's feast. Akuma does not remember the details, and he has made the executive decision, as a man who still commands respect through sheer force of reputation, that he never will. He tells himself this is discipline, the samurai's art of selective memory, though the gap in his smile suggests otherwise every time he tries to look menacing and just looks like he lost an argument with a barstool.
No accessory. Maximum presence. The Shirtless Runt fighters decided that bare skin is its own kind of armor — visible, deliberate, impossible to mistake.
Bright but not loud. The Teal Daytime fighters are the ones you underestimate because they don't announce their arrival.
