Masumi remembers the exact moment his discipline snapped, standing on the palace roof tiles with his kimono bunched at his ankles, screaming a truth nobody up there wanted confirmed. He tells people it was a protest, but honestly it was just the sound a mind makes when it finally stops pretending the wars meant anything. Now he sits cross legged in the dojo at dawn, trying to meditate his way back to the disciplined samurai he used to be, and every single time he opens his eyes ten minutes later to find he has aped into a bag of pre rolled weed sitting right next to his sandals. He knows the floor for his sanity got rugged that day on the roof and never came back, and he says so with the same flat, weary honesty he'd use to report the weather. People call him a lunatic like it's an insult, but Masumi just shrugs, because at least the lunatic version of him stopped lying about how bad everything actually is.
No accessory. Maximum presence. The Shirtless Runt fighters decided that bare skin is its own kind of armor — visible, deliberate, impossible to mistake.
