Diary
There is a version of Junichiro who still remembers the man he was before the crowded street, before the fortune, before the calm that settled over him like ash after a fire nobody watched burn. He tells people he died a little that day, and he says it with the same pleasant smile he uses for everything now, the smile of a man who has already lost the worst thing he owns and found it oddly liberating. The story goes that he stood in the middle of a market thick with bodies and noise and staked his entire family fortune on a bet no sober samurai would touch, and when it collapsed he did not weep, he simply exhaled, as if some ancient rusted hinge in his chest had finally stopped complaining. The Dojo elders, unimpressed by his newfound serenity, tossed him out for conduct unbecoming, which he considers the second luckiest thing to ever happen to him. Now he practices his forms alone at dawn with the discipline of a man rebuilding a temple from memory, and every single time he fails, drifts, forgets the count, or just stands there grinning at the sunrise like it owes him money, he calls it growth, because apparently reincarnation comes with a very generous grading curve.
No accessory. Maximum presence. The Shirtless Runt fighters decided that bare skin is its own kind of armor — visible, deliberate, impossible to mistake.
Unclear until it clears. The Grey Mist backgrounds belong to fighters who operate where others can't see, and use that fog as their advantage.
The foundation. The crowd. The 2,426 who showed up and kept showing up. Degens are what the Dojo is built from — not the rare exceptions, but the persistent presence.
Wore everything out. The Dirty Peasant Rags fighters have been in the Dojo so long that newness has become impossible — everything they own carries the evidence.
He walked into something that should have ended him and walked back out with the same name and none of the same conditions. Nobody agrees what happened out there, and he's in no hurry to explain.
Precious material on the most important tool. The Golden Glasses fighters invested in how they see — and the investment shows.
Not metaphorical. Someone's leg bone, spiked. The Spiky Femur fighters have been here long enough that the bones of their enemies are now equipment.
