They say Junichiro Reborn died once already, so nothing that happens in a gambling house should have been able to touch him, and yet the whispers he traded in the smoky back room of that place did what no blade ever managed. He'd felt invincible dropping rumors between hands of cards, chest puffed like a man who'd found a second wind after his second life, certain that words were the one weapon a dead man could still swing without consequence. The gossip spread the way weed smoke spreads in a room with no windows, and for one golden night he was untouchable, reborn twice over, laughing at fate like it owed him a favor. Fate, it turns out, keeps ledgers, and by morning the same men he'd whispered about were whispering back, and the calm mask he wears now is less serenity than the flat stillness of a man watching his own myth get repossessed. He still tells the story like a koan, smiling that unnervingly peaceful smile, because even ruin is easier to carry when you insist it was part of the plan all along.
No accessory. Maximum presence. The Shirtless Runt fighters decided that bare skin is its own kind of armor — visible, deliberate, impossible to mistake.
