Diary
They say Junichiro Reborn died once, quietly, somewhere on the slopes of Mount Koriyoka, and what came down the mountain afterward only borrowed his face. Up there he'd gone seeking the old discipline, the katas, the fasting, the silence his sword once demanded, but the mountain offered him a pipe, a jug, and a view that made all of it feel unnecessary. He watched his mojo slip away like mist off the ridge and, strange man that he is, he smiled the whole time, calling it the most alive he'd felt since the wars ended. Now he meditates each morning with genuine intention, vows to reclaim the warrior's edge, and by noon he's rebuilt his little shrine to bad habits with the same devotion he once gave his blade. He tells new fighters it was a rebirth, and technically he isn't lying, he just leaves out that the new Junichiro is somehow both more enlightened and more useless than the last one.
No accessory. Maximum presence. The Shirtless Runt fighters decided that bare skin is its own kind of armor — visible, deliberate, impossible to mistake.
The hour when most give up. The Blue Evening fighters are still at their desk, still watching the chart, still holding.
The foundation. The crowd. The 2,426 who showed up and kept showing up. Degens are what the Dojo is built from — not the rare exceptions, but the persistent presence.
Comfort and culture combined. The Sushi Love Loose Kimono fighters dress for the life they're building, not the fight they're in.
He walked into something that should have ended him and walked back out with the same name and none of the same conditions. Nobody agrees what happened out there, and he's in no hurry to explain.
Clear eyes. No filter. The unshielded gaze that sees things as they are — not as they're presented or sold.
Ancient discipline, modern retention. The Braided Samurai Ponytail fighters maintain something traditional precisely because the world keeps trying to make them let it go.
Repurposed. Made for the earth, used for the fight. The Farmers Hoe fighters don't distinguish between cultivation and combat.
