Diary
Before Dojo Towers, Junichiro Reborn smiled like a man who had never lost anything, the kind of cheer that comes from not yet knowing what waits in the elevator. Then Edmundo found him in the lobby and they talked for what witnesses swear was twenty minutes and what Junichiro insists was a lifetime, and something in him quietly rearranged itself, like a sword resheathed by a different hand. He came out the same face, same topknot, but the eyes had gone still in that unsettling way monks warn you about, and he speaks now of his old cheerful self in past tense, as a character he used to play. These days he tells anyone who'll sit still that he intends to teach the degens discipline, breathing, the eightfold path of not aping into the next shiny floor, all while lighting a joint with hands that have clearly never held a lesson plan. He calls it his second life's work, grinning that calm unnerving grin, fully aware the first thing he'll fail to discipline is himself.
No accessory. Maximum presence. The Shirtless Runt fighters decided that bare skin is its own kind of armor — visible, deliberate, impossible to mistake.
Red moon, heightened stakes. The Red High Moon backgrounds mark the moments when everything was on the line and the fighter stayed.
The foundation. The crowd. The 2,426 who showed up and kept showing up. Degens are what the Dojo is built from — not the rare exceptions, but the persistent presence.
He walked into something that should have ended him and walked back out with the same name and none of the same conditions. Nobody agrees what happened out there, and he's in no hurry to explain.
Clear eyes. No filter. The unshielded gaze that sees things as they are — not as they're presented or sold.
Floor-mat helmet. The Tatami Kabuto fighters made armor from the training floor itself — they carry the place they trained in wherever they go.
The other fish weapon. The Dead Fish fighters use something that smells like loss as a weapon — opponents are too confused to defend properly.
