Diary
They say Junichiro died on the Degens Path and something else walked back wearing his face, and he never corrects them, because it is easier than explaining the kimono. He remembers the exact stone he soiled himself on, remembers the laughter, remembers deciding right there that a man who has lost everything, including his dignity, might as well pick up a blade and see what's left. He came back different, calmer, the kind of calm that unsettles people at izakayas, the kind of calm that quotes old bushido lines while ashing a joint onto a floor he swears he'll mop tomorrow. Every dawn he vows discipline, cold water, silence, no vices, and every dawn ends the same, rugged by his own appetite before noon, forgiving everyone in the dojo except himself. He tells the story like a legend now, second chance, reborn warrior, and only in the quiet after does his smile flicker, because some stains, he knows, never fully wash out of silk or soul.
Simple. Carved. Someone made this by hand. The Wooden Loop fighters wear something made, not bought, and consider that a statement worth making.
Neither dark nor white. The Light Grey background belongs to fighters who operate in the space between certainties and have made it comfortable there.
The foundation. The crowd. The 2,426 who showed up and kept showing up. Degens are what the Dojo is built from — not the rare exceptions, but the persistent presence.
The name is the lore. The Poop Pride Kimono fighters have transcended embarrassment so completely that they wear the proof. Undefeated.
He walked into something that should have ended him and walked back out with the same name and none of the same conditions. Nobody agrees what happened out there, and he's in no hurry to explain.
Clear eyes. No filter. The unshielded gaze that sees things as they are — not as they're presented or sold.
On fire, stable. The Burning Basket fighters operate in conditions most find impossible and have stopped noticing the fire.
Repurposed. Made for the earth, used for the fight. The Farmers Hoe fighters don't distinguish between cultivation and combat.
