Diary
Masumi Steel used to drill his men until their sandals bled, a real stickler for form, back when discipline was the only currency that mattered. These days he trades in looser tender: he scored a fat bag of mushrooms off some shifty forest vendor mid-drill, right there among the trees while his squad were still holding their stances like idiots, and honestly it was the best trade he's made all year. He grins about it now, telling anyone who'll listen that his men were rugged the second he found better product, cheaper thrills, zero effort required. There's a flicker, just a flicker, of the old sensei in him that mutters something about wasted potential and lost bushido, but that voice gets quieter every time the mushrooms kick in. Masumi says he's not looking for soldiers anymore, just friends with better taste, higher floor, and the good sense not to salute him when he's this stoned.LESIONs
No accessory. Maximum presence. The Shirtless Runt fighters decided that bare skin is its own kind of armor — visible, deliberate, impossible to mistake.
Red moon, heightened stakes. The Red High Moon backgrounds mark the moments when everything was on the line and the fighter stayed.
The foundation. The crowd. The 2,426 who showed up and kept showing up. Degens are what the Dojo is built from — not the rare exceptions, but the persistent presence.
Grew things before they fought things. The Farmer clothing is the clearest record of what a fighter was before the Dojo changed them.
They called him Steel because nothing moved him — cold face, cold hands, the last man standing while braver fools lost their nerve. In peacetime, steel with nothing to cut just rusts.
Clear eyes. No filter. The unshielded gaze that sees things as they are — not as they're presented or sold.
Architecture on the scalp. Each knot a decision. The Black Bantu Knots fighters make their choices visible at the top, where everyone can see.
Organization-issue. The Yakuza Club fighters have backup in the weight of the weapon itself — it carries institutional authority.
