Diary
Masumi Steel used to draw his blade for lords and honor, now he draws it because some fool of a monkey wouldn't hand over the coin purse he swore was buried under those trees. He stabbed first, negotiated never, and walked out of the forest with a dead primate, empty pockets, and a story he's polished into legend every night since. These days he runs a gambling den so filthy the rats fold their cards early, dealing crooked hands with the same grin he once wore charging into battle, like discipline is just another bet he keeps doubling down on and losing. He tells the new degens who wander in that he's got a code, house rules, a system, right before he deals himself an extra card when nobody's looking. Ask him about the monkey and he'll swear it drew first, swear it had a katana, swear on his mother's floor price that he had no choice, then deal you into a game he's already rigged just to watch you flinch.”
No accessory. Maximum presence. The Shirtless Runt fighters decided that bare skin is its own kind of armor — visible, deliberate, impossible to mistake.
Lived-in color. The Warm Grey background belongs to fighters who have been through enough that their edges have softened without their core changing.
The foundation. The crowd. The 2,426 who showed up and kept showing up. Degens are what the Dojo is built from — not the rare exceptions, but the persistent presence.
They called him Steel because nothing moved him — cold face, cold hands, the last man standing while braver fools lost their nerve. In peacetime, steel with nothing to cut just rusts.
Clear eyes. No filter. The unshielded gaze that sees things as they are — not as they're presented or sold.
Wild, electrified. The Zapachi fighters' hair moves independently and the fighter has accepted that this is appropriate.
Found. Not forged. The Large Branch fighters don't wait for the right weapon — they use what's available and are surprised when this needs explanation.
