Masumi Steel married his geisha on an afternoon so hot the sake practically boiled itself, and he swears that's the day he became a good man, grinning like he's still not sure he believes it either. He tells anyone who'll listen he's retiring the dice, quitting the floor-chasing, hanging up the vices like an old katana on a wall, all discipline now, all zen, a reformed blade with a wedding band. Then he announces his big plan: teaching self defence classes, charging degens to learn the very stances he can't hold steady after two beers and a joint before noon. His new wife just shakes her head as he demonstrates a perfect samurai guard, wobbles, and blames the wind. Still, underneath the bluff and the needling jokes, there's something almost sincere in him, a man who lost the war, found the girl, and is at least pretending hard enough at virtue that one day it might actually stick.”
No accessory. Maximum presence. The Shirtless Runt fighters decided that bare skin is its own kind of armor — visible, deliberate, impossible to mistake.
Royalty that refused the crown. The Purple Night backgrounds belong to fighters who could have been somewhere easier and chose not to be.

Kept from the harvest. The Dried Straw fighters dress in what's left after everything useful has been taken — and have discovered this is plenty.
They called him Steel because nothing moved him — cold face, cold hands, the last man standing while braver fools lost their nerve. In peacetime, steel with nothing to cut just rusts.
Clear eyes. No filter. The unshielded gaze that sees things as they are — not as they're presented or sold.
Tied before the fight. The Green Bandana fighters have a ritual of preparation — the bandana is how they mark the transition.
Fermented projectile. The Beer Splash fighters found the most abundant thing in the Dojo and weaponized it.
