Masumi Steel used to run a whole crew, a proper oyabun with a ledger of debts and a face nobody laughed at, until one foggy morning at Tsukiji he thought it'd be funny to strut around barking orders like he was his own boss. Turns out impersonating your superior in front of the tuna auctioneers is a fast way to get demoted straight into the gutter, and Masumi grins about it now like it's his origin story instead of his downfall. He tells everyone he's "recovering slowly," which really just means he's traded the katana for a bong and swapped his chain of command for a chain of bad bets on the floor price of some rugged coin nobody remembers. Every morning he vows to meditate, to sit seiza and find his old discipline again, and every morning he's aped into another shady token before the incense even finishes burning. Still, he'll wink at you, toss a chip in the air, and say the fish market made him who he is, half samurai ghost, half degenerate legend, and honestly he wouldn't rug the bit for anything.
