Diary
Masumi Steel found the mushrooms the way he found most things in life, by accident and immediately taking credit for it, then stood grinning under the sakura petals like they were confetti thrown just for him. He spent the whole trade needling Itsuki about his footwork, his haircut, his tragic inability to bluff at cards, all while pocketing the goods and calling it a discount for services rendered. Somewhere under that pink canopy the old bushido brain flickered, some ghost of a disciplined swordsman who once meditated at dawn instead of heckling his friends into a shroom deal, but that ghost got laughed out of the room same as always. Itsuki, half annoyed and half charmed, told the story back at the Dojo with such fury that it somehow landed as praise, and just like that Masumi earned respect the only way he knows how, sideways, loud, and completely by accident. He still swears he meant to find enlightenment that day. He found a great trade and a better roast instead, and honestly, same difference.
No accessory. Maximum presence. The Shirtless Runt fighters decided that bare skin is its own kind of armor — visible, deliberate, impossible to mistake.
Military patience. The Olive Green fighters do not announce themselves. They wait. Then they move.
The foundation. The crowd. The 2,426 who showed up and kept showing up. Degens are what the Dojo is built from — not the rare exceptions, but the persistent presence.
Wealth made garment. The Money Kimono fighters wear their wins literally — the fabric is a record, not a boast.
They called him Steel because nothing moved him — cold face, cold hands, the last man standing while braver fools lost their nerve. In peacetime, steel with nothing to cut just rusts.
Clear eyes. No filter. The unshielded gaze that sees things as they are — not as they're presented or sold.
The warrior and the wanderer. Worn by those who are between destinations but never between fights.
A live chicken. As a weapon. The Chicken fighters have committed to an approach that nobody expected and found that unexpectedness is half the battle.
