Masumi Steel built his whole reputation at the Hidden Teahouse, chasing a mistress through paper walls like he was farming clout instead of committing several misdemeanors, grinning the whole time because grinning is free and dignity costs extra. The old sensei used to say a blade finds its edge in stillness, but Masumi found his edge in sprinting past sliding doors while a jealous merchant threw sandals at his head. Somewhere between the third teahouse and the second lie he told a geisha about being 'basically retired,' he decided enlightenment was probably cheaper than bail money, so now he claims he's devoted himself to Buddha. He sits cross-legged for maybe four minutes before checking if anyone saw him meditate, then bluffs his way through a whole sutra he definitely improvised on the spot. Discipline, he insists between sips of contraband sake, is just a floor he hasn't rugged yet, he swears, probably, ask him again after this next teahouse.dimension.
No accessory. Maximum presence. The Shirtless Runt fighters decided that bare skin is its own kind of armor — visible, deliberate, impossible to mistake.
Royalty that refused the crown. The Purple Night backgrounds belong to fighters who could have been somewhere easier and chose not to be.
