Diary
Oleg Of War does not apologize, not for the sake struck, not for the fish bone, not for anything that has ever happened to anyone in his general vicinity. Before the mists rolled grey off whatever forgotten strait swallowed his old temperance, he was, by every account he refuses to confirm or deny, a peaceful man, disciplined, sword sheathed more than drawn. Then came the fish, the bone, the choke that should have killed a lesser degenerate, and instead cracked something open that let all the venom in and none of the calm back out. Now he walks the ronin roads a broken thing wearing a villain's grin, still swearing every dawn he will meditate before he games, still aped into the first shady tournament bracket by noon, floor collapsing beneath his good intentions same as always. He offers no comment on any of it, because a man who has already been rugged by his own throat owes the world nothing, least of all an explanation.
No accessory. Maximum presence. The Shirtless Runt fighters decided that bare skin is its own kind of armor — visible, deliberate, impossible to mistake.
Neither dark nor white. The Light Grey background belongs to fighters who operate in the space between certainties and have made it comfortable there.
The foundation. The crowd. The 2,426 who showed up and kept showing up. Degens are what the Dojo is built from — not the rare exceptions, but the persistent presence.
Named for something specific. The Cet Kimono fighters know what they're wearing and why — the rest is for others to figure out.
War in the name and war in the deed. Read the other fighters' stories closely and Oleg keeps turning up — always as the one who ruined the moment, corrupted the innocent, lit the match.
Still wearing them. The Bloodied Glasses fighters need nothing to be clean to keep seeing clearly.
After. The Messy fighters' hair tells you what happened — not what they planned, but what they went through.
Not metaphorical. Someone's leg bone, spiked. The Spiky Femur fighters have been here long enough that the bones of their enemies are now equipment.
