Diary
One-Eyed Itsuki lost his left eye in a border skirmish decades ago, and somewhere along the way he decided the right one would just have to work twice as hard, which it does, missing nothing worth seeing and most things not worth it too. These days the only battlefield left is a patch of dirt behind the pachinko parlor where he lines up rhino beetles for degens to bet on, and it was there, mid-wager, that some fool's pet monkey lunged for the pot of loose yen and Itsuki put a wakizashi through its shoulder before his brain even finished the sentence old habits die hard. He didn't flinch, didn't apologize, just wiped the blade on his sleeve and muttered that the monkey should've read the terms of the bet, then went back to counting his winnings like nothing happened, because to him nothing really had. He still wakes some mornings meaning to meditate, sharpen his form, live like the disciplined blade he once was, but by noon he's back in the dirt with beetles and bad company, telling himself tomorrow is when the real samurai returns. One eye, half the light, twice the clarity, and still somehow he only ever sees as far as today.
No accessory. Maximum presence. The Shirtless Runt fighters decided that bare skin is its own kind of armor — visible, deliberate, impossible to mistake.
Royalty that refused the crown. The Purple Night backgrounds belong to fighters who could have been somewhere easier and chose not to be.
The foundation. The crowd. The 2,426 who showed up and kept showing up. Degens are what the Dojo is built from — not the rare exceptions, but the persistent presence.
Explicit in every sense. The Fuck You Kimono fighters made a communication choice and wore it. No ambiguity. No apology.
'Itsuki' — a tree, deep roots and one straight trunk. He lost the eye in a story he tells four different ways depending on how much he likes you, and what's left sees more than most manage with two.
Clear eyes. No filter. The unshielded gaze that sees things as they are — not as they're presented or sold.
Nothing hidden. No armor above the neck. The Bald fighters face everything without cover and consider this the only honest approach.
