Diary
One-Eyed Itsuki lost the left half of his sight in some forgotten skirmish, but he swears the trade was fair, since the half he kept never lies to him. At the markets he ran into Yuji, some floor-obsessed degen ranting about a rug that ate his last three moons of savings, and instead of walking past like a proper stoic swordsman, Itsuki sat down on an overturned crate and just listened. They shared weed, they shared silence, they shared the kind of half-formed wisdom that only makes sense when you're two cups deep in cheap sake, and somewhere in that haze Itsuki dropped a one-liner so clean that the whole street quoted it for a month straight. He tried, briefly, to reclaim some old dojo discipline the next morning, rising at dawn to meditate, only to fall right back asleep sitting upright, katana still in his lap like a forgotten leash. Legend now, still lopsided in vision, still rooted as a stone in a river, Itsuki figures happiness was never about seeing everything, just seeing enough, twice as clearly as anyone bothers to.
No accessory. Maximum presence. The Shirtless Runt fighters decided that bare skin is its own kind of armor — visible, deliberate, impossible to mistake.
Between midday and dusk. The Orange Afternoon fighters are in the middle of something — not finished, not starting, exactly where they need to be.
The foundation. The crowd. The 2,426 who showed up and kept showing up. Degens are what the Dojo is built from — not the rare exceptions, but the persistent presence.
Organization ink made visible. The Black Yakuza Sleeves fighters belong to something — a code, a history — and they advertise their membership without speaking.
'Itsuki' — a tree, deep roots and one straight trunk. He lost the eye in a story he tells four different ways depending on how much he likes you, and what's left sees more than most manage with two.
Clear eyes. No filter. The unshielded gaze that sees things as they are — not as they're presented or sold.
Practical. Focused. The Hair Bun fighters pulled back what was in their eyes so they could see the whole board.
