Diary
One-Eyed Itsuki once split a battlefield down the middle with a single glance, half the world doubled in clarity while lesser men flailed at shadows they couldn't even see once. These days his one good eye watches his own life with the same steady detachment, which is the only reason he survived narrating what happened at his mother's house: a venereal disease arrived uninvited, his bowels seceded from the union without warning, and somewhere in that chaos the old ronin discipline he still claims to carry quietly filed for divorce. He did not flinch, he did not blink, he simply noted the damage the way a swordsman notes a cut he'll dress later, and moved on with the calm of a man who has already seen the worse half of everything twice. Now he says he'll teach degens discipline, posture, breath control, the whole ronin curriculum, though anyone who watched him waddle out of that house understands the syllabus needs an asterisk. Itsuki shrugs at the doubt; he sees clearly that he's a fraud and a legend in equal measure, and honestly, that's more clarity than most men ever earn.
Worn as trophy or warning — nobody is quite sure which. The Chicken Bones fighters have a ceremony for everything and share it with no one.
Royalty that refused the crown. The Purple Night backgrounds belong to fighters who could have been somewhere easier and chose not to be.
The foundation. The crowd. The 2,426 who showed up and kept showing up. Degens are what the Dojo is built from — not the rare exceptions, but the persistent presence.
Named for what it abandoned. The No Honor Kimono fighters gave up on the codes others follow and found that this freed them completely.
'Itsuki' — a tree, deep roots and one straight trunk. He lost the eye in a story he tells four different ways depending on how much he likes you, and what's left sees more than most manage with two.
Clear eyes. No filter. The unshielded gaze that sees things as they are — not as they're presented or sold.
Intentional declaration. The Mohawk Spike fighters made a choice that announces itself before they speak.
Repurposed. Made for the earth, used for the fight. The Farmers Hoe fighters don't distinguish between cultivation and combat.
