Diary
One-Eyed Itsuki sat cross-legged on Degens Path, grease running down his wrist, a whole roasted bird in his lap like a trophy from a war he never fought, and somewhere between the third and fourth bite his coin purse grew wings and left. He didn't chase it. With one eye he'd already seen the thief clear as daylight, with the other he saw the truth twice as fast: attachment cooks a man slower than any fire ever could. So he wiped his fingers, bowed to the empty road, and walked himself straight into a temple to devote what was left of his ronin heart to Buddha, vowing silence, stillness, and zero snacks after dark. That vow lasted exactly until the incense burned out and someone mentioned there was chicken on the offering table, at which point Itsuki, calm as ever, muttered
No accessory. Maximum presence. The Shirtless Runt fighters decided that bare skin is its own kind of armor — visible, deliberate, impossible to mistake.
Military patience. The Olive Green fighters do not announce themselves. They wait. Then they move.
The foundation. The crowd. The 2,426 who showed up and kept showing up. Degens are what the Dojo is built from — not the rare exceptions, but the persistent presence.
Left the order. Didn't stop fighting. The Dejen Apostate fighters broke from whatever school trained them and found that the training stayed anyway.
'Itsuki' — a tree, deep roots and one straight trunk. He lost the eye in a story he tells four different ways depending on how much he likes you, and what's left sees more than most manage with two.
Clear eyes. No filter. The unshielded gaze that sees things as they are — not as they're presented or sold.
After. The Messy fighters' hair tells you what happened — not what they planned, but what they went through.
A live chicken. As a weapon. The Chicken fighters have committed to an approach that nobody expected and found that unexpectedness is half the battle.
