Diary
One-Eyed Itsuki once chased ambition the way a fresh degen apes into a shiny new coin at 3am, blade sharp, ego sharper, eyes locked on conquest. Then came the night on his friend's futon, a bad bowl of gas-station gyoza, and a betrayal of the bowels so total it rugged the friendship's floor price by morning. He watched the whole disaster unfold with the same half-lidded clarity he watches everything, one eye somehow seeing double the truth: ambition was just shame waiting for its cue. These days he kneels before a chipped little Buddha, incense curling through a haze of weed smoke, chanting for a discipline that keeps slipping through his fingers, since the candle on his altar gets knocked over every time his meditation turns into an accidental nap. Steady as a rock, unbothered as a monk mid koan, he tells anyone who asks that enlightenment is easy, it's laundry day that keeps kicking his ass.
Heavy. Deliberate. The Gold Earring fighters wear their conviction in precious metal on the outside so everyone knows before they speak.
Paper screens at night. The Shoji Night fighters were born in the quiet hours, when the market sleeps and only the committed are still at their screens.
The foundation. The crowd. The 2,426 who showed up and kept showing up. Degens are what the Dojo is built from — not the rare exceptions, but the persistent presence.
The dragon lives on the body now. The Dragon Head Tattoo fighters carry their ambition on the surface — it's not hidden, and it's not a metaphor.
'Itsuki' — a tree, deep roots and one straight trunk. He lost the eye in a story he tells four different ways depending on how much he likes you, and what's left sees more than most manage with two.
Clear eyes. No filter. The unshielded gaze that sees things as they are — not as they're presented or sold.
The farmer's crown. The Rice Hat fighters carry tradition on their head without ceremony — it's just what you wear when you have work to do.
Repurposed. Made for the earth, used for the fight. The Farmers Hoe fighters don't distinguish between cultivation and combat.
