Diary
One-Eyed Itsuki claims he was a hair's width from the shogunate, that the councils had already measured the silk for his robes, and nobody has the paperwork to prove him wrong. Then came Mount Hotaka, a string of widows, and the kind of afternoon that ends careers instead of starting empires, and now he sees the whole disgrace twice as clearly through the one eye that still works. He tells it like a war story because to him it is one, the last battle he ever fought being against his own restraint, and restraint lost early and often. These days he swears each morning he will rebuild the discipline of his samurai years, ropes down the sake, meditates before noon, and by dusk he is aped into another dice game with men who owe him nothing and intend to keep it that way. Ask him if he regrets it and he will not blink, mostly because he only has the one eye to do it with, and he will tell you a shogun never has this much fun losing.
No accessory. Maximum presence. The Shirtless Runt fighters decided that bare skin is its own kind of armor — visible, deliberate, impossible to mistake.
Unclear until it clears. The Grey Mist backgrounds belong to fighters who operate where others can't see, and use that fog as their advantage.
The foundation. The crowd. The 2,426 who showed up and kept showing up. Degens are what the Dojo is built from — not the rare exceptions, but the persistent presence.
Soft exterior. The Puppy Kimono fighters discovered that disarming presentation is its own strategy — you stop seeing the threat until it's too late.
'Itsuki' — a tree, deep roots and one straight trunk. He lost the eye in a story he tells four different ways depending on how much he likes you, and what's left sees more than most manage with two.
Fox face. The Kitsune Mask fighters wear the shapeshifter's face — which means every identity is available to them and none is fixed.
Practical. Focused. The Hair Bun fighters pulled back what was in their eyes so they could see the whole board.
Organization-issue. The Yakuza Club fighters have backup in the weight of the weapon itself — it carries institutional authority.
