Diary
One-Eyed Itsuki lost his left eye to a war nobody remembers winning, and gained in trade a stare that reads the whole board twice while everyone else squints at half of it. These days the only battlefield left is the dojo roof at midnight, where he bathes among a nest of snakes like it's a ritual cleanse instead of a fire hazard waiting on a permit. Somewhere between the hissing and the moonlight something in him lit up, tainted in that specific degen way where shame and thrill ape into the same trade and both sides pump. He still tells himself tomorrow he meditates at dawn, drops the vices, gets his old discipline back off the floor, same promise he's rugged himself on for years. For now he just sits there, one eye closed against the smoke of a rolled leaf that isn't tobacco, watching serpents coil, perfectly unbothered, twice as clear as any two-eyed fool could ever hope to be.
No accessory. Maximum presence. The Shirtless Runt fighters decided that bare skin is its own kind of armor — visible, deliberate, impossible to mistake.
Lived-in color. The Warm Grey background belongs to fighters who have been through enough that their edges have softened without their core changing.
The foundation. The crowd. The 2,426 who showed up and kept showing up. Degens are what the Dojo is built from — not the rare exceptions, but the persistent presence.
Maximum exposure by choice. The Nudey Freak fighters are not unclothed by accident — they made a considered decision and stand by it in all weather.
'Itsuki' — a tree, deep roots and one straight trunk. He lost the eye in a story he tells four different ways depending on how much he likes you, and what's left sees more than most manage with two.
Clear eyes. No filter. The unshielded gaze that sees things as they are — not as they're presented or sold.
Wild, electrified. The Zapachi fighters' hair moves independently and the fighter has accepted that this is appropriate.
Repurposed. Made for the earth, used for the fight. The Farmers Hoe fighters don't distinguish between cultivation and combat.
