Diary
Stresshead Rin had trained for ambushes, poison, betrayal at the castle gate, every catastrophe a warrior could rehearse in his head at 3 a.m., but nobody warned him about the laundry basket parked in the hallway of his own family home. He went down hard, dignity first, and lay there convinced the ancestors were watching, taking notes, drafting a strongly worded letter. That night he swore an oath on his grandfather's dusty armor to become disciplined again, to wake at dawn, to scan every room for threats both real and wicker-shaped. For three days he actually did it, sweeping floors, checking corners, treating throw rugs like landmines, before the weed and the whiskey and the itch to just relax for one damn minute dragged him back to the floor mat, eyes twitching, muttering that vigilance is a full time job with no employer and no pay. He still flinches at baskets. He has, notably, not vowed anything about the wine cabinet.
No accessory. Maximum presence. The Shirtless Runt fighters decided that bare skin is its own kind of armor — visible, deliberate, impossible to mistake.
Military patience. The Olive Green fighters do not announce themselves. They wait. Then they move.
The foundation. The crowd. The 2,426 who showed up and kept showing up. Degens are what the Dojo is built from — not the rare exceptions, but the persistent presence.
The blue Oni does not rage. The blue Oni waits. The Blue Oni Tattoo fighters are the calmest ones in the room — which makes them the most dangerous.
The one the captain trusted with the plan — he mapped every ravine, counted every arrow, rationed rice to the grain so his squad would live. Now he plans everything and controls nothing.
Clear eyes. No filter. The unshielded gaze that sees things as they are — not as they're presented or sold.
The woven face-cover of the wandering monk. The Tengai Basket fighters reveal nothing above the shoulders and everything through how they move.
Patience as weapon. The Noose fighters don't rush — they set the conditions and wait for the opponent to walk into them.
