Diary
TOKUDA HELD HIS BLADE LEVEL AT OLEG'S THROAT in the bamboo forest, both men frozen mid-duel, when a glint in the roots caught his eye and turned out to be a stash of coins some fool had buried and forgotten. He roared with laughter right there in the standoff, dropped his sword to scoop up the loot, and declared the fight a draw because honestly, coins beat honor nine times out of ten. Now he runs a gambling den behind a noodle shop, dim and sticky with spilled sake and the ghost of weed smoke, where he screams the odds like war orders and refuses to let anyone leave quiet, win or lose. He tells himself every night he'll close early, meditate, sharpen his katana, restore the old discipline, and every night he instead aped his own house edge on a rigged dice game and got rugged by his own dealer. Oleg still stops by sometimes, not to fight, just to watch Tokuda bellow
No accessory. Maximum presence. The Shirtless Runt fighters decided that bare skin is its own kind of armor — visible, deliberate, impossible to mistake.
Hidden in plain sight. The Night Forest fighters do most of their work in the dark — not secretively, but quietly. They don't need an audience.
The foundation. The crowd. The 2,426 who showed up and kept showing up. Degens are what the Dojo is built from — not the rare exceptions, but the persistent presence.
No fixed allegiance. The Mercenary fighters fight for whoever offers the right terms and have never lost a battle when those terms were met.
The battle-cry made flesh — his roar once turned breaking lines around. Now he barks the same orders across a crooked gambling table, losing quietly to himself in the loudest way possible.
Precious material on the most important tool. The Golden Glasses fighters invested in how they see — and the investment shows.
Practical and armed. The Hair Bun With Chopsticks fighters put utensils in their hair and call it hair care — the dual function is not accidental.
The other fish weapon. The Dead Fish fighters use something that smells like loss as a weapon — opponents are too confused to defend properly.
