Diary
TOKUDA SWORE, once upon a time, that his skin would only ever bear the marks of honest battle, but that was before he sat with Ikari at sunset and let the man's silver tongue and cheaper needles do their work. "ONE TATTOO," Tokuda had bellowed to the empty street afterward, admiring the crooked dragon that looked more like a confused eel wrapped around his forearm, "AND IT SHALL BE GLORIOUS!" It was not glorious. It was, by his own furious admission, an abomination that made grown men wince and small children ask if he'd lost a fight with a tattoo gun and won by sheer stubbornness. He vowed discipline the very next morning, swore off Ikari, swore off needles, swore off sunsets themselves for good measure, and then promptly got two more before the week was out because the man simply would not stop talking and Tokuda simply would not stop listening. Now he stands in the ring shouting apologies to the ghosts of every sensei who ever trained him, ink crawling up both arms like a mutiny he can't put down, still hollering that tomorrow, TOMORROW, he finally gets his discipline back.
No accessory. Maximum presence. The Shirtless Runt fighters decided that bare skin is its own kind of armor — visible, deliberate, impossible to mistake.
Military patience. The Olive Green fighters do not announce themselves. They wait. Then they move.
The foundation. The crowd. The 2,426 who showed up and kept showing up. Degens are what the Dojo is built from — not the rare exceptions, but the persistent presence.
Self-described. The Womanizer clothing is a declaration that the fighter has a particular relationship with the world and considers this worth advertising.
The battle-cry made flesh — his roar once turned breaking lines around. Now he barks the same orders across a crooked gambling table, losing quietly to himself in the loudest way possible.
Clear eyes. No filter. The unshielded gaze that sees things as they are — not as they're presented or sold.
Golden cone hat of the sea. The Golden Kasa Fisherman fighters came from somewhere patient and arrived with that patience intact.
The floor weapon. Everywhere. Common because common is honest — the Rusty Nail fighters know that what you find is often better than what you planned.
