Diary
Tokuda once bellowed clan names across smoke-choked battlefields, and now he bellows filth across the counter of the noodle house, chest heaving so hard his nipples split and weep like a man who forgot war ended and started fighting broth instead. The women at the next table flee with their bowls, and Tokuda salutes their retreat as if it were a righteous rout, blood blooming through his robe in twin battle standards. He swears this is the last disgrace, that tonight the blade comes out and seppuku restores the honor no izakaya scream ever could, but he says it the way a man says he is quitting sake, loud, certain, and completely unconvincing. Discipline calls to him like a distant drum he keeps mistaking for last call, and every time he kneels to compose his death poem he instead composes another rant about cold noodles and disrespectful glances. So he sits there, blood drying, dignity nowhere in sight, roaring into the night that he refuses to die quietly, which, everyone agrees, was never really in question.
No accessory. Maximum presence. The Shirtless Runt fighters decided that bare skin is its own kind of armor — visible, deliberate, impossible to mistake.
Bright but not loud. The Teal Daytime fighters are the ones you underestimate because they don't announce their arrival.
The foundation. The crowd. The 2,426 who showed up and kept showing up. Degens are what the Dojo is built from — not the rare exceptions, but the persistent presence.
Cold and precise. The Blue Warrior Kimono fighters arrived dressed for a specific kind of fight — the one they had already decided how to win.
The battle-cry made flesh — his roar once turned breaking lines around. Now he barks the same orders across a crooked gambling table, losing quietly to himself in the loudest way possible.
Clear eyes. No filter. The unshielded gaze that sees things as they are — not as they're presented or sold.
Not born with them. Became them. The Grey Oni Horns fighters grew their nature slowly until it became structural.
Used and not cleaned. The Bloody Nunchucks fighters are efficient — cleaning was someone else's job and they had the next fight to prepare for.
