Diary
TOKUDA once bellowed war cries that cracked helmets from fifty paces, but these days the only battle cry left in him erupts at 3am over a bowl of cold ramen and regret. He aped into his buddy's futon with not one but several grieving widows, a decision so catastrophically horny it rugged his own confidence harder than any battlefield ever managed. "I HAVE FACED DEATH AND SPAT IN ITS EYE," he'll shout to no one, then immediately whisper, "but I cannot tell my mother about the bed thing." He still trains at dawn, screaming ancient forms into the void, still hasn't called home, still floors himself daily trying to reclaim the discipline he torched somewhere between the sake and the sheets. Somewhere his ancestors are either laughing themselves into the afterlife or drafting a strongly worded letter, and Tokuda, gloriously undefeated in denial, refuses to go quiet about either possibility.
Without the gold. The Jesuit Crosses fighters have the same conviction but carry it lighter — the weight is in the belief, not the metal.
Neither dark nor white. The Light Grey background belongs to fighters who operate in the space between certainties and have made it comfortable there.
The foundation. The crowd. The 2,426 who showed up and kept showing up. Degens are what the Dojo is built from — not the rare exceptions, but the persistent presence.
The red Oni rages where the blue Oni waits. The Red Oni Tattoo fighters run hot and they are at peace with this.
The battle-cry made flesh — his roar once turned breaking lines around. Now he barks the same orders across a crooked gambling table, losing quietly to himself in the loudest way possible.
Clear eyes. No filter. The unshielded gaze that sees things as they are — not as they're presented or sold.
Insect mastery. The Kung Fu Beetle fighters move in patterns that look inefficient until they aren't. The beetle is not decorative.
Implies infirmity, delivers otherwise. The Wooden Walking Cane fighters move slower than expected and hit harder than prepared for.
