Diary
TOKUDA CLIMBED MOUNT FUJI LIKE A MAN STORMING A CASTLE, screaming battle cries at pilgrims who just wanted a quiet sunrise, and somewhere past the fifth station his stomach staged its own rebellion, rugging the kimono his grandfather wore into three separate wars. He did not apologize. He did not retreat. He roared louder, as if volume alone could distract the mountain gods from the smell, shaking his fist at the summit like it had personally shorted him. Years later, sake in hand, he still hasn't told his family, but he tells strangers at the dojo bar every week, embellishing the shame into legend, because a warrior never dies quietly, he just gets louder about his losses. He knows discipline demands he confess, kneel, apologize properly, the old bushido way, but every time he opens his mouth to do it he ends up shouting a battle cry instead and ordering another round.
Decorative. Traditional. The Tassel fighters know that ornament and function are not opposites — presentation is part of performance.
Bright but not loud. The Teal Daytime fighters are the ones you underestimate because they don't announce their arrival.
The foundation. The crowd. The 2,426 who showed up and kept showing up. Degens are what the Dojo is built from — not the rare exceptions, but the persistent presence.
Explicit in every sense. The Fuck You Kimono fighters made a communication choice and wore it. No ambiguity. No apology.
The battle-cry made flesh — his roar once turned breaking lines around. Now he barks the same orders across a crooked gambling table, losing quietly to himself in the loudest way possible.
Clear eyes. No filter. The unshielded gaze that sees things as they are — not as they're presented or sold.
Practical and armed. The Hair Bun With Chopsticks fighters put utensils in their hair and call it hair care — the dual function is not accidental.
The other fish weapon. The Dead Fish fighters use something that smells like loss as a weapon — opponents are too confused to defend properly.
