Diary
TOKUDA ONCE SPLIT SKULLS AT DAWN AND NOW HE SPLITS RIBS AT BBQ BEN'S FOLDING TABLE, set up right outside the local shrine like the gods themselves ordered takeout. He roared his war cry over a plate of glistening pork, the same cry that once rallied ashigaru to the breach, except this time it was aimed at a rib bone that dared resist his grip. The finger snapped with a sound like a temple bell cracking, and Tokuda screamed loud enough that the shrine's koi scattered and an old monk dropped his broom. He sat there cradling his throbbing hand, shame burning hotter than the sauce, muttering that a true swordsman does not lose a duel to BBQ, yet here he was, defeated by ribs on sacred ground. Every night since he vows discipline, vows to eat like a monk and fight like a blade, and every night he ends up shouting at a plate of meat like it insulted his ancestors, refusing, as always, to go quietly into a decent diet.
No accessory. Maximum presence. The Shirtless Runt fighters decided that bare skin is its own kind of armor — visible, deliberate, impossible to mistake.
Royalty that refused the crown. The Purple Night backgrounds belong to fighters who could have been somewhere easier and chose not to be.
The foundation. The crowd. The 2,426 who showed up and kept showing up. Degens are what the Dojo is built from — not the rare exceptions, but the persistent presence.
Named for what it abandoned. The No Honor Kimono fighters gave up on the codes others follow and found that this freed them completely.
The battle-cry made flesh — his roar once turned breaking lines around. Now he barks the same orders across a crooked gambling table, losing quietly to himself in the loudest way possible.
Clear eyes. No filter. The unshielded gaze that sees things as they are — not as they're presented or sold.
Crow spirit, long nose, ancient power. The Tengu Mask fighters are wearing something that predates the Dojo — something older that chose to be here.
A live chicken. As a weapon. The Chicken fighters have committed to an approach that nobody expected and found that unexpectedness is half the battle.
