Diary
TOKUDA ROARED AT THE LANTERNS like they'd personally challenged him, fists raised, sake-brain convinced the Nagasaki Lantern Festival was Sekigahara reborn in paper and fire. Somewhere between the third dare and the fifth, discipline waved a small white flag and Tokuda, ever the battle-cry with nowhere left to charge, decided drinking his own urine was a warrior's rite of passage instead of a warning sign. He bellowed a war chant mid-swallow, the crowd scattered, and by dawn his once-proud topknot had abandoned him entirely, gone the way of his dignity and his last three bets. He stands bald under the lantern glow now, shouting about the samurai he almost still is, laughing so the shame can't catch him standing still. Some nights he wonders what could have been if he'd just ordered another drink instead, then he shouts louder, because quiet is the one battle Tokuda refuses to fight.
No accessory. Maximum presence. The Shirtless Runt fighters decided that bare skin is its own kind of armor — visible, deliberate, impossible to mistake.
Unclear until it clears. The Grey Mist backgrounds belong to fighters who operate where others can't see, and use that fog as their advantage.
The foundation. The crowd. The 2,426 who showed up and kept showing up. Degens are what the Dojo is built from — not the rare exceptions, but the persistent presence.
Self-described. The Womanizer clothing is a declaration that the fighter has a particular relationship with the world and considers this worth advertising.
The battle-cry made flesh — his roar once turned breaking lines around. Now he barks the same orders across a crooked gambling table, losing quietly to himself in the loudest way possible.
Clear eyes. No filter. The unshielded gaze that sees things as they are — not as they're presented or sold.
Movement made permanent. The Long Flowing fighters trail behind themselves in every room they enter — the hair arrives first, then the fighter.
Organization-issue. The Yakuza Club fighters have backup in the weight of the weapon itself — it carries institutional authority.
