Diary
Azuma used to be east, the direction of sunrise, of first light on drawn steel, but somewhere between the last war and the first bong rip he curdled into something else entirely, a slow poison seeping through the dojo's floorboards instead of dawn breaking over it. The blade found him mid-dream, glory still dripping off his fingers in his own futon, and he woke not screaming but grinning, because pain that arrives late is just proof you were worth poisoning in the first place. He tells everyone at the sake house it was an assassin sent by rival clans, though the scar's angle suggests it was probably just a jealous roommate tired of him hogging the good weed. Now he walks the training yard each morning vowing to rebuild his discipline, three sun salutations deep before he's distracted by a floor price notification and forgets his own name for an hour. Still he carries himself proud, chest out, wound gleaming like a medal, because a reaction ignored long enough starts to look a lot like character.
No accessory. Maximum presence. The Shirtless Runt fighters decided that bare skin is its own kind of armor — visible, deliberate, impossible to mistake.
Unclear until it clears. The Grey Mist backgrounds belong to fighters who operate where others can't see, and use that fog as their advantage.
The foundation. The crowd. The 2,426 who showed up and kept showing up. Degens are what the Dojo is built from — not the rare exceptions, but the persistent presence.
Not a garment — a record. The Battle Scars clothing is what's left after everything else was stripped away. These fighters wear their history.
Another east, but where Drooling Azuma's is the honest sunrise, Toxic's is where the reaction happens — the direction things curdle. Same name, entirely different chemistry.
Clear eyes. No filter. The unshielded gaze that sees things as they are — not as they're presented or sold.
Nothing hidden. No armor above the neck. The Bald fighters face everything without cover and consider this the only honest approach.
Organization-issue. The Yakuza Club fighters have backup in the weight of the weapon itself — it carries institutional authority.
