Azuma once trained his mind like a blade, breath counted, thoughts folded into stillness, but these days the only discipline he practices is portion control on mushrooms, and he fails that too. Deep in the Meiji Jungle, canopy dripping green venom light, he ate three caps too many chasing some old bushido clarity, and what arrived instead was not sunrise but reaction, slow, wrong, unstoppable. The forest turned to smoke and teeth, his own hakama felt like armor made of ants, and somewhere between hallucinated ancestors and a very real stomach betrayal, he shit himself beneath a tree that may or may not have been judging him. He tells people he was poisoned by the jungle itself, a toxin fighting toxin, poetic if you squint, humiliating if you don't. Even now he swears next time will be different, measured, sacred, controlled, and even now nobody, least of all Azuma, believes him.”
Heavy. Deliberate. The Gold Earring fighters wear their conviction in precious metal on the outside so everyone knows before they speak.
Bright but not loud. The Teal Daytime fighters are the ones you underestimate because they don't announce their arrival.
