Diary
Azuma never announces himself like sunrise does; he arrives the way spoiled sake hits the gut, quiet, then all at once ruinous, and that was exactly his entrance at the izakaya the night he traded blows with Ikari over a spilled cup and a sharper insult. The fight built his name the way rot builds flavor, slow, sour, undeniable, and by the time the owner dragged them apart half the bar was already whispering that Azuma had teeth again. Bruised, buzzing, strangely sentimental, he lingered after Ikari stormed off, nursing his drink and asking the bartender, the stray cat, anyone who'd listen, what a former blade is supposed to do with a future that no longer needs cutting. He tried, for one flickering moment, to promise himself discipline, no more brawls, no more nights soaked in shochu and spite, and then ordered another round before the vow finished leaving his mouth. Some men chase the dawn; Azuma just waits to see what the dawn regrets by noon.
No accessory. Maximum presence. The Shirtless Runt fighters decided that bare skin is its own kind of armor — visible, deliberate, impossible to mistake.
Between midday and dusk. The Orange Afternoon fighters are in the middle of something — not finished, not starting, exactly where they need to be.
The foundation. The crowd. The 2,426 who showed up and kept showing up. Degens are what the Dojo is built from — not the rare exceptions, but the persistent presence.
Another east, but where Drooling Azuma's is the honest sunrise, Toxic's is where the reaction happens — the direction things curdle. Same name, entirely different chemistry.
Clear eyes. No filter. The unshielded gaze that sees things as they are — not as they're presented or sold.
The farmer's crown. The Rice Hat fighters carry tradition on their head without ceremony — it's just what you wear when you have work to do.
Organization-issue. The Yakuza Club fighters have backup in the weight of the weapon itself — it carries institutional authority.
