A shrine maiden screamed, a tourist filmed it for clout, and somewhere in that chaos Azuma swears enlightenment struck him slow and corrosive, like poison finding a vein rather than sunrise finding a hill. He calls himself wiser now, though he still apes into whatever token smells like destiny and still rolls a joint before meditation instead of after, proof that the venom in him teaches lessons but never quite lets him graduate. Ask him about the plan and he only smiles, patient as rust, certain that ruin, like wisdom, always arrives late but arrives complete.”
