Diary
They called him Azuma because he rose like the east, but everyone who ever shared a meal with him learned he was less sunrise and more slow poison, the kind that waits patiently in the blood before it decides you've had enough of living. On Misty Mountain, where the old dojo once stood before the wars turned every ronin into a gambler with a sword, he choked on a fish bone during what was supposed to be a meditative solo meal, a quiet ritual he'd aped from his sensei's old habits without any of the actual discipline behind it. He coughed, he cursed the koi that betrayed him, and something in his chest snapped along with whatever patience he had left, the same patience he'd been trying to rebuild after years of dice games and bad decisions floored his temper flatter than his stack after a rug. Now he drifts from town to town claiming he wants a quieter life, some fog-wrapped cabin where nobody talks and nothing has bones in it, but anyone who's watched him white-knuckle a poker table knows serenity is a floor he keeps missing by inches. Still he tries, mostly failing, corrosive as ever, promising the mountain and himself that next time he'll count to ten before the venom in him decides otherwise.
No accessory. Maximum presence. The Shirtless Runt fighters decided that bare skin is its own kind of armor — visible, deliberate, impossible to mistake.
Neither dark nor white. The Light Grey background belongs to fighters who operate in the space between certainties and have made it comfortable there.
The foundation. The crowd. The 2,426 who showed up and kept showing up. Degens are what the Dojo is built from — not the rare exceptions, but the persistent presence.
Explicit in every sense. The Fuck You Kimono fighters made a communication choice and wore it. No ambiguity. No apology.
Another east, but where Drooling Azuma's is the honest sunrise, Toxic's is where the reaction happens — the direction things curdle. Same name, entirely different chemistry.
Clear eyes. No filter. The unshielded gaze that sees things as they are — not as they're presented or sold.
Extinct power, still present. The Sabertooth Skull fighters wear something that doesn't exist anymore — which means they carry it forward.
Implies infirmity, delivers otherwise. The Wooden Walking Cane fighters move slower than expected and hit harder than prepared for.
