Diary
Young Yuji was born a beat after the last battle drum went quiet, and he's been trying to catch up to a war that already left the building, chasing glory like it's a floor price that pumped without him. They gave him shears and a shrine duty, trim the cherry blossoms, keep the grounds honest, breathe like a monk for once instead of a kid who never slept through a single decade of peace. Instead he found a pig rooting through the fallen petals, snorting like it owned the whole shrine, and something in Yuji's rattling chest just went still for the first time since the war ended too soon. He named nothing, structured nothing, just sat there trimming one branch every hour while the pig leaned into his knee, degen heart aped fully into something soft and undeniable. Discipline never had a chance against a pig in cherry blossoms, but Yuji swears, wide-eyed and grinning, that he's never felt more like himself, rugged by peace and somehow completely fine with it.
Theology made weapon-adjacent. The Golden Jesuit Crosses fighters have a philosophy and the crosses are its badge — precise, absolute, delivered with complete conviction.
Hidden in plain sight. The Night Forest fighters do most of their work in the dark — not secretively, but quietly. They don't need an audience.
Mint fighters with gold on them: a golden blade, gold earrings, a golden cross. Orange is the karate step before green, a flat orange-gold so the card prints the way it looks.
Still becoming, and always will be — the wars ended before he got to finish. All promise and no scars, certain his great chapter was over the next hill. The hill turned out to be the last one.
Unglamorous and honest. The Black Peasant Rags fighters didn't dress for anyone else. They dressed for function and found that function is its own statement.
Clear eyes. No filter. The unshielded gaze that sees things as they are — not as they're presented or sold.
Dark nature made structural. The Black Oni Horns fighters grew into something specific and let it show at the top.
The foundation. The crowd. The 2,468 who showed up and kept showing up. Degens are what the Dojo is built from — not the rare exceptions, but the persistent presence.
Primitive, and proud of it. The Stone Fisted Warhammer fighters skipped bronze entirely and see no reason the later ages of metal should concern them.
