Diary
Yuuki stood before The Old Dragon in the shadowed hall of the Edo palace the way he once stood before generals, spine straight, breath measured, a man who had traded a sword for whatever this was now. He did not flinch when his phone buzzed with the notification that his job, the one he had barely shown up to for three weeks, was officially gone, because The Old Dragon was mid sentence about ancient debts and Yuuki considered it deeply rude to check texts during a legendary being's monologue. There was a time he governed men with quiet resolve, back straight before the wars, and some ember of that discipline still flickered when he told himself he would simply get another job tomorrow, calmly, like a warrior reclaiming ground, a promise he broke by sundown chasing a green candle instead. Somehow, staring into eyes older than the shogunate while his livelihood evaporated in his pocket, Yuuki felt something close to joy, the specific thrill of watching your own foundation crumble in real time while a dragon talks philosophy at you. He walked out of the palace unemployed, unbothered, and strangely proud, the last honest soldier of a war that ended long before rent was due.
Simple. Carved. Someone made this by hand. The Wooden Loop fighters wear something made, not bought, and consider that a statement worth making.
Hidden in plain sight. The Night Forest fighters do most of their work in the dark — not secretively, but quietly. They don't need an audience.
The foundation. The crowd. The 2,426 who showed up and kept showing up. Degens are what the Dojo is built from — not the rare exceptions, but the persistent presence.
Maximum exposure by choice. The Nudey Freak fighters are not unclothed by accident — they made a considered decision and stand by it in all weather.
'Yuuki' means courage, earned the plain way: by stepping forward on the mornings every sane part of him voted to step back. Bravery, for him, was a decision made fresh each day.
Clear eyes. No filter. The unshielded gaze that sees things as they are — not as they're presented or sold.
Movement made permanent. The Long Flowing fighters trail behind themselves in every room they enter — the hair arrives first, then the fighter.
