Diary
Yuuki once stood a spear's length from death without blinking, so naturally he assumed a snake bath at the local yakiniku would be nothing, just another quiet test of the old bushido nerve he swears he still has somewhere under the hangover. He sank into the water with the calm of a man who has faced worse, jaw set, eyes forward, ready to stare down serpents like they were rival clans instead of overfed pets in a novelty tub. Then one slid across his ankle at the exact moment the grilled meat smell hit his stomach wrong, and the samurai composure he'd been rationing all week left his body in the most literal way possible. The other bathers scattered, the snakes seemed personally offended, and Yuuki just sat there in the ruined water muttering that a true warrior adapts to any battlefield, even this one. He tells himself it was a tactical retreat of the bowels, one more small heroic failure in a long, degenerate war against having his life even slightly together.
No accessory. Maximum presence. The Shirtless Runt fighters decided that bare skin is its own kind of armor — visible, deliberate, impossible to mistake.
Bright but not loud. The Teal Daytime fighters are the ones you underestimate because they don't announce their arrival.
The foundation. The crowd. The 2,426 who showed up and kept showing up. Degens are what the Dojo is built from — not the rare exceptions, but the persistent presence.
Seasonal. Fleeting. Beautiful because it ends. The Autumn Sakura Kimono fighters understand that the things that don't last are what make things matter.
'Yuuki' means courage, earned the plain way: by stepping forward on the mornings every sane part of him voted to step back. Bravery, for him, was a decision made fresh each day.
Clear eyes. No filter. The unshielded gaze that sees things as they are — not as they're presented or sold.
The Dojo's version of a mohawk. More specific, more named. The Dejen Mohawk fighters chose the Dojo's interpretation of rebellion over the generic one.
Heavy, ceramic, purpose-built for one thing and used for another. The Giant Sake Bottle fighters are creative about their arsenal.
