Diary
Yuuki once held a line against real steel and worse odds, the kind of courage men wrote scrolls about, and now that same nerve gets spent on a drunk named Botan swinging wild inside a shrine that deserved better company. The rat never had a chance either, some innocent bystander of the sacred grounds, skewered mid-scurry while Yuuki's other hand was busy putting Botan face-first into the offering box. He stood there afterward, blade still dripping, Botan groaning at his feet, and felt the old, familiar hum of having done something honorable, even though the mission was closer to bar fight than battlefield. Now he tells anyone who'll sit still that he's writing a memoir, working title something like 'The Last Ronin of the Shrine Steps,' though the only chapter finished so far is the one where he swears he'll stop drinking before noon. He never does, but he writes that line down every morning anyway, disciplined as ever, aiming his last real virtue at a problem it was never built to solve.
Whose bones? The fighter who wears them knows. They're not saying. The Finger Bones fighters operate on a level of commitment that most find uncomfortable.
The hour when most give up. The Blue Evening fighters are still at their desk, still watching the chart, still holding.
The foundation. The crowd. The 2,426 who showed up and kept showing up. Degens are what the Dojo is built from — not the rare exceptions, but the persistent presence.
'Yuuki' means courage, earned the plain way: by stepping forward on the mornings every sane part of him voted to step back. Bravery, for him, was a decision made fresh each day.
Clear eyes. No filter. The unshielded gaze that sees things as they are — not as they're presented or sold.
Movement made permanent. The Long Flowing fighters trail behind themselves in every room they enter — the hair arrives first, then the fighter.
The other fish weapon. The Dead Fish fighters use something that smells like loss as a weapon — opponents are too confused to defend properly.
