Diary
Yuuki once carried himself like a blade sheathed in silence, the kind of samurai who could stare down a warlord without blinking, but the Meiji Jungle undid him in ways no battlefield ever could. It was there, tangled in vines and cheap sake and the perfumed company of widows who mistook his stillness for something it was not, that his nerve slipped quietly out the back door and never came home. He tells himself it was a strategic retreat, the same way he tells himself skipping leg day is a strategic retreat, but the shame sits heavier than any katana ever did. These days he channels that old battlefield courage into smaller, stranger arenas, standing firm against a bag of stale weed gummies at 2 a.m. or talking himself down from aping into a floor-priced NFT of a cartoon raccoon at 4 a.m., wins nobody will ever carve into a shrine. He has not forgiven himself for the jungle, not really, but he has made a wry peace with being the kind of hero who loses nobly to snack food and market hype instead of men.”
No accessory. Maximum presence. The Shirtless Runt fighters decided that bare skin is its own kind of armor — visible, deliberate, impossible to mistake.
Unclear until it clears. The Grey Mist backgrounds belong to fighters who operate where others can't see, and use that fog as their advantage.
The foundation. The crowd. The 2,426 who showed up and kept showing up. Degens are what the Dojo is built from — not the rare exceptions, but the persistent presence.
Blessed by the Dojo's own rites. The Ordained Dejen fighters carry something that can't be revoked — the Dojo recognized them and that recognition is permanent.
'Yuuki' means courage, earned the plain way: by stepping forward on the mornings every sane part of him voted to step back. Bravery, for him, was a decision made fresh each day.
Clear eyes. No filter. The unshielded gaze that sees things as they are — not as they're presented or sold.
Elevated tradition. The High Straw Rice Hat fighters dress high above their own heads — everything they do is reaching upward.
A live chicken. As a weapon. The Chicken fighters have committed to an approach that nobody expected and found that unexpectedness is half the battle.
