Yuuki once held a line against three ronin at dusk without blinking, so naturally the palace roof at midnight should have been nothing, just tile and moonlight and Rin's laugh daring him closer to the edge. He leaned in with the same steady nerve that used to steady blades, said something devastatingly smooth, and somehow, impossibly, lost his topknot to a loose shingle and a gust of bad luck, hair scattering like sakura petals nobody asked for. Rin howled. The old sensei in him, the one who still believes discipline is a muscle he simply forgot to feed, insists this was a tactical error and vows to meditate at dawn, cut back on the sake, tighten the topknot properly next time. He will not do any of those things. Instead he brushes the gravel from his palms, grins at the night sky, and decides, with the calm conviction of a man reordering his entire social ledger, that what he truly needs now is better quality friends, ones who won't laugh quite so hard when courage gets repurposed for flirting and ends in scalp-based disaster.
No accessory. Maximum presence. The Shirtless Runt fighters decided that bare skin is its own kind of armor — visible, deliberate, impossible to mistake.
