There was a version of Fuzen's life where the title of shogun sat waiting for him like a signed contract, ink dry, seal pressed, nothing left but for him to show up and claim it. Instead he found himself in the shaman's lair, incense thick as a bad trade, and Botan running his mouth about destiny like destiny owed him money. Fuzen did not raise his voice. He rarely does. He simply closed the distance the way he closes everything, patiently, inevitably, and left Botan folded on the floor while the shogunate quietly rugged itself somewhere behind him. He tells himself he still keeps discipline, meditates every morning, one minute in, nine spent scrolling degen charts and rewatching the knockout, and somehow he has never once regretted the unfinished business of a throne he chose not to collect.”
No accessory. Maximum presence. The Shirtless Runt fighters decided that bare skin is its own kind of armor — visible, deliberate, impossible to mistake.
The hour when most give up. The Blue Evening fighters are still at their desk, still watching the chart, still holding.
