Diary
Before he was a name whispered in ledgers of unfinished contracts, Fuzen was just a boy with too sharp a tongue, wading through the rice paddies to needle Yuuki about her aim, her family, her stupid little sandals, until she planted his forearm sideways with one clean strike and taught him silence the hard way. The bone healed crooked, a permanent reminder etched into muscle memory, the kind of lesson that should have made him disciplined, patient, precise, the very qualities an assassin is supposed to master. Instead he retired from that old life the way a man retires from a bad trade, swearing off violence with the same conviction he now swears off the vape pen resting suspiciously close to his elbow. He calls it closure, calls it growth, calls the rice paddies behind him, yet some nights he still catches himself sizing up a stranger's stance out of habit, contract instincts flickering like a pilot light that never quite goes out. Discipline was the debt he meant to repay, but Fuzen has always been better at collecting on other people's promises than settling his own.
Without the gold. The Jesuit Crosses fighters have the same conviction but carry it lighter — the weight is in the belief, not the metal.
Hidden in plain sight. The Night Forest fighters do most of their work in the dark — not secretively, but quietly. They don't need an audience.
The foundation. The crowd. The 2,426 who showed up and kept showing up. Degens are what the Dojo is built from — not the rare exceptions, but the persistent presence.
Named for what it abandoned. The No Honor Kimono fighters gave up on the codes others follow and found that this freed them completely.
'Fuzen' means incompleteness, a joke at his own expense before it was a name. The blade sent for the jobs that had to be certain — left with one last name on his list when the wars ended.
Clear eyes. No filter. The unshielded gaze that sees things as they are — not as they're presented or sold.
Broad shade, broad vision. The Wide Kasa Fisherman fighters cover more ground with their hat than most cover with their plans.
The floor weapon. Everywhere. Common because common is honest — the Rusty Nail fighters know that what you find is often better than what you planned.
