Assassin Fuzen once closed contracts the way monks close their eyes in prayer, silent, final, without a flicker of doubt, and men learned to fear the stillness before his blade more than the blade itself. But the wars ended and the stillness curdled into something else, a patience with nowhere left to point itself, and at the Darkness Festival it finally slipped its leash in the worst possible corner of a crowded tent. Witnesses say he was calm right up until he wasn't, the mask of discipline cracking loud enough to draw a circle of horrified onlookers and one very unlucky lantern vendor. He has told the Dojo elders, more than once and with total sincerity, that it was a private moment that simply happened to have an audience, the same dry logic he once used to justify a killing in broad daylight. They did not renew his contract either, and now he lingers at the gates some nights, unfinished business as always, patiently waiting for a discipline that keeps rescheduling.
No accessory. Maximum presence. The Shirtless Runt fighters decided that bare skin is its own kind of armor — visible, deliberate, impossible to mistake.
Lived-in color. The Warm Grey background belongs to fighters who have been through enough that their edges have softened without their core changing.
The foundation. The crowd. The 2,426 who showed up and kept showing up. Degens are what the Dojo is built from — not the rare exceptions, but the persistent presence.
Not quite there yet. The Warlock Wannabe fighters are in the process of becoming something more — and the gap between aspiration and arrival is where they live.
'Fuzen' means incompleteness, a joke at his own expense before it was a name. The blade sent for the jobs that had to be certain — left with one last name on his list when the wars ended.
Clear eyes. No filter. The unshielded gaze that sees things as they are — not as they're presented or sold.
Tied before the fight. The Green Bandana fighters have a ritual of preparation — the bandana is how they mark the transition.
Found. Not forged. The Large Branch fighters don't wait for the right weapon — they use what's available and are surprised when this needs explanation.
