Diary
There is a version of the story where Assassin Fuzen sharpens his blades at a proper whetstone, in a proper dojo, like a man with a shred of self-respect, but that is not this story. This story has him kneeling on his friend's futon at three in the morning, steel hissing against stone while the poor bastard slept through it, and somewhere in that quiet grinding rhythm Fuzen felt something in him go soft that he did not ask permission for. He calls it becoming a good man, the way a rug pull calls itself a liquidity event, technically accurate, spiritually a crime scene. Now he still keeps his contracts open long after the ink should dry, still lets targets breathe an extra day, still rolls one more joint before he does the thing he swore he'd finally quit doing carelessly, discipline forever floor-priced and never bought back. He has not forgiven himself for that night, and honestly, he is patient enough to wait centuries for an apology no one else knows he's owed.
No accessory. Maximum presence. The Shirtless Runt fighters decided that bare skin is its own kind of armor — visible, deliberate, impossible to mistake.
Royalty that refused the crown. The Purple Night backgrounds belong to fighters who could have been somewhere easier and chose not to be.
The foundation. The crowd. The 2,426 who showed up and kept showing up. Degens are what the Dojo is built from — not the rare exceptions, but the persistent presence.
Organization ink made visible. The Black Yakuza Sleeves fighters belong to something — a code, a history — and they advertise their membership without speaking.
'Fuzen' means incompleteness, a joke at his own expense before it was a name. The blade sent for the jobs that had to be certain — left with one last name on his list when the wars ended.
Clear eyes. No filter. The unshielded gaze that sees things as they are — not as they're presented or sold.
Ancient discipline, modern retention. The Braided Samurai Ponytail fighters maintain something traditional precisely because the world keeps trying to make them let it go.
The floor weapon. Everywhere. Common because common is honest — the Rusty Nail fighters know that what you find is often better than what you planned.
