Fuzen once accepted a contract in the Okiyo region and, true to form, never quite closed it, though the rash he caught there closed on him instead, spreading like an unpaid invoice across skin that used to be disciplined. Between the sake dens and the questionable pipes he frequented while 'scouting the target,' he picked up habits that stuck harder than any blade lesson from his samurai days, and now his hands shake with something other than killing intent. Still, he tells anyone who'll listen that he's pivoting to teaching self defence, mostly because he figures if he can't finish a job quietly he might as well finish a sentence loudly. His idea of a lesson plan is a folder titled 'Final Draft' that hasn't been opened in three moons, much like the contract itself, still technically open, still technically his. Discipline, like the rash, lingers just under the surface, itching to be addressed, and Fuzen just keeps promising tomorrow, patient as a debt collector who enjoys the wait more than the payment.
No accessory. Maximum presence. The Shirtless Runt fighters decided that bare skin is its own kind of armor — visible, deliberate, impossible to mistake.
Hidden in plain sight. The Night Forest fighters do most of their work in the dark — not secretively, but quietly. They don't need an audience.
The foundation. The crowd. The 2,426 who showed up and kept showing up. Degens are what the Dojo is built from — not the rare exceptions, but the persistent presence.
Not a garment — a record. The Battle Scars clothing is what's left after everything else was stripped away. These fighters wear their history.
'Fuzen' means incompleteness, a joke at his own expense before it was a name. The blade sent for the jobs that had to be certain — left with one last name on his list when the wars ended.
Clear eyes. No filter. The unshielded gaze that sees things as they are — not as they're presented or sold.
The Dojo wrote on it. The Degen Graffiti Rice Hat fighters carry the collection's mark on the highest point of their body.
Fermented projectile. The Beer Splash fighters found the most abundant thing in the Dojo and weaponized it.
