Young Fuzen first heard the calling ankle-deep in the rice paddies, mud sucking at his sandals while he dreamed of glory the way other boys dream of festivals, and something in him signed an invisible contract with violence that day and never once asked for terms. Decades on, the wars are gone, the lords are gone, the paddies have probably been sold to some noble's cousin for condos, but the contract remains open on his desk like unpaid rent, and Fuzen still walks the world a broken man fulfilling a debt nobody remembers issuing. He tried discipline again last spring, woke at dawn to meditate, lasted four minutes before rolling a joint instead and calling it
No accessory. Maximum presence. The Shirtless Runt fighters decided that bare skin is its own kind of armor — visible, deliberate, impossible to mistake.
Royalty that refused the crown. The Purple Night backgrounds belong to fighters who could have been somewhere easier and chose not to be.
The foundation. The crowd. The 2,426 who showed up and kept showing up. Degens are what the Dojo is built from — not the rare exceptions, but the persistent presence.
Still learning. The Student Gi fighters are the most dangerous in the Dojo — they have no habits yet, no fixed patterns, no ceiling.
'Fuzen' means incompleteness, a joke at his own expense before it was a name. The blade sent for the jobs that had to be certain — left with one last name on his list when the wars ended.
Clear eyes. No filter. The unshielded gaze that sees things as they are — not as they're presented or sold.
The Dojo wrote on it. The Degen Graffiti Rice Hat fighters carry the collection's mark on the highest point of their body.
The floor weapon. Everywhere. Common because common is honest — the Rusty Nail fighters know that what you find is often better than what you planned.
