Diary
Assassin Fuzen once signed his kills the way other men sign contracts, clean lines, no loose ends, a blade that finished what it started. Now he sits in the corner booth of the izakaya nursing a warm Asahi and a grudge older than most currencies, still calling himself a closer while every contract in his life quietly expires unread. Tonight the target is gossip, not flesh, and somewhere between the third round and the fourth he lets a stray bit of spit fly loose while trashing a stranger's reputation, missing the man's face by an inch but hitting his dignity dead center. The old Fuzen would have apologized, cleaned the mess, restored the wa, honor demands restitution; this Fuzen just grins, feels lighter than he has in weeks, floor of his self-respect rugged all the way to zero and somehow it floats him. He tells himself tomorrow he starts the discipline again, the meditation, the sober mornings, same promise as always, another contract he has no intention of closing.
No accessory. Maximum presence. The Shirtless Runt fighters decided that bare skin is its own kind of armor — visible, deliberate, impossible to mistake.
Bright but not loud. The Teal Daytime fighters are the ones you underestimate because they don't announce their arrival.
The foundation. The crowd. The 2,426 who showed up and kept showing up. Degens are what the Dojo is built from — not the rare exceptions, but the persistent presence.
The dragon lives on the body now. The Dragon Head Tattoo fighters carry their ambition on the surface — it's not hidden, and it's not a metaphor.
'Fuzen' means incompleteness, a joke at his own expense before it was a name. The blade sent for the jobs that had to be certain — left with one last name on his list when the wars ended.
Clear eyes. No filter. The unshielded gaze that sees things as they are — not as they're presented or sold.
Practical. Focused. The Hair Bun fighters pulled back what was in their eyes so they could see the whole board.
Patience as weapon. The Noose fighters don't rush — they set the conditions and wait for the opponent to walk into them.
