Assassin Fuzen once took contracts the way monks take vows, silent, exact, and always fulfilled by dawn, but the wars ended and the only targets left were his own nerves. Under the bridge that night he peeled off every stitch of clothing like a man shedding a failed katana sheath, screaming obscenities at a cluster of terrified women who had simply wanted to walk home in peace. Word got around the dojo that he'd finally been rugged by his own discipline, floor price zero, reputation aped into the river along with his dignity. Now he says he's writing a book about restraint, though the only pages filled so far are receipts for weed and a napkin that reads 'Chapter One: The Bridge (working title)'. Nobody doubts he'll finish it eventually, the way nobody doubts a contract he's never actually closed, patient, quiet, and permanently overdue.
Decorative. Traditional. The Tassel fighters know that ornament and function are not opposites — presentation is part of performance.
Military patience. The Olive Green fighters do not announce themselves. They wait. Then they move.
The foundation. The crowd. The 2,426 who showed up and kept showing up. Degens are what the Dojo is built from — not the rare exceptions, but the persistent presence.
Self-described. The Womanizer clothing is a declaration that the fighter has a particular relationship with the world and considers this worth advertising.
'Fuzen' means incompleteness, a joke at his own expense before it was a name. The blade sent for the jobs that had to be certain — left with one last name on his list when the wars ended.
Clear eyes. No filter. The unshielded gaze that sees things as they are — not as they're presented or sold.
The tiger, bound. The Tiger Headband Ruffian fighters contain something predatory with a strip of cloth and consider this sufficient.
