Diary
Assassin Fuzen once swore his blade only to silence, a contract sealed in blood and unbroken vows, until a stray fish bone at the local yakiniku ambushed him mid chew and nearly closed his own ledger for good. He choked, he wheezed, he clawed at the table like a man renegotiating with the universe, and somewhere between the smoke and the soy sauce his faith quietly tapped out, no funeral, no goodbye note, just gone. Now he sits ronin-still in the corner booth, grilling meat with the same patience he once reserved for marks, muttering that discipline is just another contract he keeps meaning to sign but never does. He tells himself tonight is the night he finally meditates before eating, chews slow, breathes deep, honors the old ways, then aped another skewer whole and nearly went out again like some cursed samurai punchline. Fuzen still has so many issues to deal with, but he lists them the way he lists targets, patiently, quietly, one bone at a time, promising each one it's next, though the invoice never seems to close.
Whose bones? The fighter who wears them knows. They're not saying. The Finger Bones fighters operate on a level of commitment that most find uncomfortable.
Red moon, heightened stakes. The Red High Moon backgrounds mark the moments when everything was on the line and the fighter stayed.
The foundation. The crowd. The 2,426 who showed up and kept showing up. Degens are what the Dojo is built from — not the rare exceptions, but the persistent presence.
Maximum exposure by choice. The Nudey Freak fighters are not unclothed by accident — they made a considered decision and stand by it in all weather.
'Fuzen' means incompleteness, a joke at his own expense before it was a name. The blade sent for the jobs that had to be certain — left with one last name on his list when the wars ended.
Clear eyes. No filter. The unshielded gaze that sees things as they are — not as they're presented or sold.
Named for sensation. The Splitting Axe Ache fighters' hair is named for how their opponents feel after they're done.
Used and not cleaned. The Bloody Nunchucks fighters are efficient — cleaning was someone else's job and they had the next fight to prepare for.
